I am a writer, a wife, a lover of animals, a teacher, a reader, and a genealogist.
I grew up in an era where children were to be seen and not heard. Books became my safe place; a place where I could live out adventures. The characters, whether human or animal became my best friends. I could share secrets and ideas with them. I could even have imaginary conversations with them. I think this experience is what inspired me to become a writer.
An unexpected fact about me is that in many of my novels I often include incidents with snakes. I think the reason is because I spent thirteen days in the hospital recovering from a rattlesnake bite. I can tell you that being zipped up in a body bag and being covered with ice was a scary experience.
When I'm not writing, I enjoy working crossword puzzles, dining out (who doesn't love to get out of kitchen duty?), traveling, and catching up on my ever growing to be read list.
I enjoy hearing from readers and respond to every comment. So don't be shy. Let me hear from you.
